India's cricketing fraternity doff their hat to Asia Cup winning team

New Delhi: India's cricket fraternity and administrators flooded X handle with congratulatory messages after the Men in Blue's triumph in the Asia Cup cricket tournament after a close battle with Pakistan in the final.

International Cricket Council Chairman, Jay Shah called it “A proud moment for Indian cricket as Team India showcases excellence, consistency, and character on the biggest stage. Kudos to the players and support staff for a stellar campaign.”

BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla hailed the side as “undefeated champions of Asia”, for their triple triumph against Pakistan in the tournament.

Former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, also rated as one of the greatest Indian team captains, effusively praised the youngsters. “Well done India on a great nite ..under pressure a much better team with the ball and then with the bat .. These young boys are brilliant.”

Praising individual brilliance, former cricketer Yuvraj Singh said, “What a nerve-wracking game, truly befitting a final! India vs Pakistan, the stage doesn’t get any bigger than this and @TilakV9 lit it up. Simply outstanding knock, holding the innings together under huge pressure and showing unbelievable maturity, then finishing it off with @IamShivamDube in grand style."

He also showered ecomiums on Kuldeep Yadav and Sanju Samson. "@imkuldeep18 brilliant with the ball and @IamSanjuSamson steady as always. Proud of this team and the support staff for showing true character all through."

Yuvraj, who picked up the man of the tournament award during India's Limited Over World Cup win in 2011, also made special mention of Abhishek Sharma for a similar sterling show in the just-concluded tourney.
