Indian MMA fighter assaulted by Afghan fighter and supporters during Tiger Shroff’s Matrix Fight Night event (VIDEOS)

New Delhi: On the complaint of India's mixed martial arts fighter Srikant Sekhar, who alleged he was assaulted by Afghanistan fighter Abdul Azim Badakshi post his fight at Matrix Fight Night here, Delhi police have registered vide FIR under IPC 325/34.

Srikant was left with a broken jaw among other injuries and has been hospitalised following an ugly fracas on Friday night.

As per Srikant's statement to Delhi police, "After finishing his match, at around 10:30 pm he was cheering up his team-mate namely Seth Rosario. During this supporters of Zahoor Shah (opponent of Seth Rosario) threw a rolled paper on M Srikant Sekhar, when he looked back he saw that they are making rage faces on him.



"Thereafter a AIMMAA official person came to Sekhar and asked him to leave. When he was leaving, a Well known fighter namely 'Abdul Azim Badakshi' attacked him and punched on his Jaw and he was knocked down by Badakshi and beaten by some others also.

"Sekhar was rescued by AIMMAA official and he was asked to leave the place as soon as possible. When the he left the place some goons ran after him to beat him. Somehow the he managed to escape and ran to the PCR Van."



According to reports it is learnt that Badakshi has two passports and was trying to flee the country.

Actor and MMA talk show expert Parvin Dabas shared a photo of Badakshi’s alleged Indian passport and Aadhar Card on Twitter and said: "Afghan MMA fighter Abdul Azim Badakshi holding two passports, Afghani and Indian and having made an Aadhar card (god knows how) is attempting to flee tonight…not sure if FIR has been filed yet by Delhi Police am being told same is being done under bailable offences.



Matrix Fight Night promotion, owned by Ayesha Shroff, wife of Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff, banned Afghanistan fighters following the brutal attack on Sekhar.

In statement, Ayesha Shroff said: "I would like to thank judges and refrees world class handling of the mob that broke the boundaries of sportsmanship. I take this opportunity to clarify that no Afghan fighter will ever feature on MFN card again. There is no sports like MMA and any kind of disrespect and hooliganism will not be tolerated by us."
