Pune: The 42nd match of the IPL 2022 will see Punjab Kings (PBKS) locking horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the MCA Stadium on Friday.

Super Giants are placed at fourth position on points table with five wins and three defeats, whereas Kings sit at sixth spot with four wins and as many loses.

Both sides are coming on the back of victories. Super Giants skipper KL Rahul registered an impressive 103 and Krunal Pandya took three wickets to beat Mumbai Indians by 36 runs. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa smashed 88 and 42 respectively in their latest outing to help Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 11 runs.

The venue - MCA Stadium - is known to help batters initially and assist spinners as the match progresses, which gives the chasing team an advantage.

Although Rahul has been amassing the bulk of the runs, Super Giants need other top-order batters to step in.

The likes of Quinton de Kock, Manish Pandya and Marcus Stoinis have to support their skipper to help their side climb up in the standings.

Kings have one of the most formidable batting units, with the big names Dhawan, Liam Livingstone and Jonny Bairstow. Mayank Agarwal-led side would need consistency from their batters if they are storm into the top-four on the points table.
