IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals' Shimron Hetmyer heads back home for child's birth

Mumbai: Rajasthan Royals (RR) batter Shimron Hetmyer has left the bubble and headed back to his home Sunday morning for the birth of his child, the franchise said on Sunday.

"We are helping him in every way we can, and our best wishes are with him and his wife Nirvani. We look forward to Shimron then returning to Mumbai, and resuming duties at the Royals for the remainder of our matches in IPL 2022," the IPL franchise said in a statement.

Hetmyer has played a finisher's role for his team and a huge contributor to Royals successful campaign this season. He scored 291 runs at an average of 72.

Royals are currently placed third on the points table with seven wins in 11 outings and have three games left in the league stage. (UNI)
