Pune: The in-form Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will take on a struggling Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who will be led by MS Dhoni, in the 46th match of IPL 2022 at the MCA Stadium on Sunday.

On the eve of the match, the defending champions CSK announced that Ravindra Jadeja has relinquished captaincy and requested former skipper Dhoni to lead again. Jadeja, who was became Dhoni's successor just two days before the start of the 2022 season, took the decision to focus and concentrate on his game.

Sunrisers are placed at fourth spot, having won five matches and lost three, whereas Super Kings sit in the ninth position with two victories and six loses. Both sides will be heading into the match on the back of defeats.

Sunrisers went down against Gujarat Titans, while Super Kings lost to Punjab Kings.

With Abhishek Sharma and skipper Kane Williamson at the top, Sunrisers have a top-class batting unit which follows Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran. Although in a losing cause, both Abhishek and Markram smashed fifties in their last outing. In the lower-order, Shashank Singh turned out to a surprise package with his ability to hit in the death overs.

Bowling wise, the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Marco Jansen, and T Natarajan would look to rectify their lines and lengths which cost their side a defeat against the Titans. Meanwhile, Umran Malik would be itching to go having taken a five-wicket haul in the previous game.

On the other hand, Super Kings are having a hard time this season. Their poor run has taken a toll on Jadeja as the all-rounder wasn't able to balance his game with captaincy duties. Super Kings' batters have been inconsistent with the top-order not being able to fire and middle-order succumbing to pressure.

In their last match, only Ambati Rayudu and Ruturaj Gaikwad were able to go big while others walked back cheaply. In the bowling department, Dwaine Pretorius and Dwayne Bravo were the most expensive bowlers against Punjab Kings. Other bowlers too leaked runs and were unable to get breakthroughs.
