Christchurch: For the first time in five tournaments, veteran India fast bowler Jhulan Goswami missed an ICC Women's Cricket World Cup match on Sunday.
The 39-year-old sat out during India's World Cup 2022 match against South Africa due to a side strain. Meghna Singh came in place of Goswami in the playing XI.
It is a must-win game for India if they want to feature in the knockout stages of the tournament, while South Africa have already booked their semi-final berth.
In the 2022 edition, Goswami became the first bowler to take 250 wickets in women's ODI cricket.
Goswami has been part of the 2005, 2009, 2013, 2017 and 2022 World Cup tournaments. (UNI)
