Kolkata: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) for the second time in weeks dropped strike bowler Ashok Dinda from Bengal's 16-member squad on disciplinary ground in the Ranji trophy match to be played against strong Gujarat at Eden Gardens from January 3-6.
" Based on team management views, the selectors did not consider Dinda for inclusion in the team at this stage," CAB secretary Avishek Dalmiya said in a statement this evening.

Dinda was dropped from Bengal squad against Andra Pradesh in the previous game at Eden Gardens on a clause of  "indiscipline".

Dinda allegedly had hurled abuse - without any apparent provocation - at bowling coach Ranadeb Bose on the eve of the match, when Bose was speaking to captain Abhimanyu Easwaran during a training session.

Dinda's name was in the original squad sheet, but it was removed following the incident.Opening batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran retained his post as captain in the crucial 4th round of play of the elite group of first class domestic cricket.
