Rare! Bangladesh in a driver’s seat vs Australia

Dhaka: Australia were all out for 217 in their first innings, conceding a 43-run lead to Bangladesh, on day two of the first test at the Shere Bangla National Stadium on Monday. Opener Matt Renshaw (45) was the top scorer for Australia, while left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan was the pick of the Bangladesh bowlers with figures of 5-68.
 

At one stage, Australia was struggling at 144 for 8 wickets. Pet Cummins and Ashton Agar’s small cameo took the team to 217 and ensured Bangladesh relish a small lead. In reply to the second innings, Bangladesh puts on a good opening partnership before opener Somya Sarkar got dismissed. The score of Bangladesh on the stumps of Day 2 was 43 for the loss of one wicket. (UNI)
