Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami named India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant as the "state brand ambassador".
Dhami took to Twitter and shared a video in which he interacted with Pant through a video call.
"One of the best cricket players of India, idol of youth and Uttarakhand's star Rishabh Pant has been appointed by our government as 'State Brand Ambassador' with ane aim of encouraging the youth of the state towards sports and public health," Dhami tweeted in Hindi along with the video.
In the video call, Pant, who was born in Roorkee, could be heard saying, "Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do something for the youth".
Currently, Pant is in Johannesburg with the Indian team for the upcoming three-match Test series against South Africa.
The bilateral series will begin on December 26 at Centurion. (UNI)
