Tokyo:Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu stormed into the semi-finals of the women's singles badminton event at the Tokyo Olympics here on Friday.
The Rio Olympics silver medalist Sindhu overcame the challenge from Japan's Akane Yamaguchi, in straight sets 21-13, 22-20 in the quarter-finals of the women's singles event in just under an hour to book a place in the semi-finals.
The match witnessed a brilliant 54-shot rally.Sindhu's opponent in the semi-finals will be decided in the match between Thailand's Intanon Ratchanok and Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-Ying
