Tokyo: Three members of the Australian athletics team are in isolation at the Tokyo Olympics games villages after they came in close contact with American pole vaulter Sam Kendricks, who tested positive for Covid-19, it was announced here on Thursday.
However, according to reports the three Australian athletes' PCR tests turned up negative but they will continue to remain in isolation.
The athletes will be allowed to train in isolation, subject to strict measures, and are expected to compete as planned.
Kendricks, the reigning world champion, has been ruled out of the Olympics after testing positive for COVID. (UNI)
