Social media claims Neeraj Chopra's 'javelin' stolen in Meerut, Police clarifies

Meerut (UP): Javelin from the statue of world champion Neeraj Chopra installed at the Sports City intersection of Meerut city here in Uttar Pradesh has been stolen by an unidentified miscreant, the social media users claimed. 
 
After the renovation of Hapur Adda in the city, the Sports City intersection was named, where a statue of Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra holding a javelin was installed.

A video claiming that the javelin was stolen by the unidentified miscreants went viral on Tuesday after which the police took the cognizance of the case and initiated an inquiry.

Meerut Police has now refuted the viral claim and said that the javelin was not stolen, instead the fake javelin was replaced by an original one two months ago. (Inputs from UNI)
