New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday announced five measures, including redevelopment of stations and trains on Public Private Partnership model, for Indian Railways in Budget 2020-21.
In her Budget speech in the Lok Sabha, Ms Sitharaman said, “Setting up of large solar power capacity along side railway tracks on lands owned by Railways will be taken up.”
High speed train between Mumbai-Ahmedabad will be actively pursued, she said, adding that more Tejas type trains will connect iconic destinations.
The Finance Minister also added that Bengaluru-Chennai train project will be completed soon. (UNI)
