After Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday made a startling claim — alleging that a Brazilian model’s photograph has been used multiple times (around 22 times) in Haryana’s voter list under different names, her photo went viral on the social media.
Now, fact-checker Mohammed Zubair shared the reaction video of the woman in the photograph on X.
The woman is identified as Larissa, a Brazilian model and influencer, has reacted with disbelief after discovering her photo being circulated in Indian political debates. In the video posted online — translated from Portuguese — Larissa expressed shock, saying, “Guys, I can’t believe these people are gossiping. They’re using an old photo of mine; I was 18 or 20 in that photo. They’re portraying me as Indian to scam people. What madness! What craziness is this, what world do we live in?"
Notably, the brazilian woman’s name appears as Seema, elsewhere as Saraswati, Sunita, or Sweetie on various places. According to Gandhi, this image has been reused several times under different identities, pointing to large-scale voter list manipulation in the Haryana Assembly Elections 2024.
Rahul Gandhi claimed 25 lakh fake votes were cast in Haryana, accusing the BJP of orchestrating a 'theft' of the mandate.
