‘Fader’ Instead of ‘Father’, ‘Noge’ for ‘Nose’: Chhattisgarh Teacher’s Wrong English Spellings Go Viral, Draws Suspension (VIDEO)

In a shocking case from Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh, a government school teacher has been suspended for teaching children incorrect English spellings. The action came after a video went viral on social media showing the teacher writing “Sanday” instead of “Sunday” and “Wensday” instead of “Wednesday” on the blackboard.

The incident took place at the Kogwar village government primary school in Machandand village of Wadrafnagar block. Following an inquiry, the District Education Officer suspended teacher Praveen Toppo.

‘Nose’ Written as ‘Noge’

The incident raises serious questions about the quality of education in government primary schools. The teacher not only misspelled the days of the week but also taught incorrect spellings of body parts. He wrote “Noge” for “Nose”, “Eare” for “Ear”, and “Iey” instead of “Eye”. Children were being made to memorize these wrong spellings, potentially harming their learning foundation.

Even ‘Father’ and ‘Mother’ Were Spelled Wrong

The teacher was also seen writing incorrect spellings for basic words like father, mother, and sister, clips of which went viral online.

Villagers alleged that the school has two teachers, but one of them—Kamlesh Pando—often comes to school intoxicated and sleeps during class hours.

Complaints were previously filed with the block education office, including against Praveen Toppo, who was found teaching incorrect English.

A formal inquiry was launched, and disciplinary action followed.
