A woman and her 11-year-old son died after jumping from the 13th floor of a residential building in Greater Noida. The victims have been identified as a 37-year-old Sakshi Chawla and her son Daksh.

Sakshi had been living with her husband, Darpan Chawla, and their son at Ace City. Daksh had been reportedly undergoing treatment for mental health issues for over a decade and Sakshi was stressed over his condition.

Neighbors in shock

News of the fall drew a large crowd of residents and security staff to the scene. When people saw the two bodies on the ground, there were screams and cries from those nearby. Neighbours described the incident as shocking and were visibly distressed.

Police and forensic teams respond

Residents alerted the police, and officers along with the forensic team and senior officials arrived at the site. The bodies were taken into police custody and sent for post-mortem. Police say they have contacted the family and opened an investigation.

Suicide note recovered

According to police, a suicide note was recovered from the Chawlas' home. In the note addressed to her husband, Sakshi Chawla wrote, "We are leaving this world... Sorry. We do not want to trouble you anymore. Your life should not be ruined because of us. No one is responsible for our death."
