Pune: The city police have arrested a 23-year-old woman and her friend in connection with a dangerous stunt where the former hung from the roof of a building for a video reel on social media.
Police have identified the duo as Meenakshi Salunkhe (23) and Mihir Gandhi (27). While, the third person who shot the video is absconding, they said.
When the reel went viral on Instagram, there was a backlash against the duo for risking their lives.
After the clip went viral, many social media users requested the Pune Police to take action against Gandhi and Salunkhe, police official said.
"After getting a detailed information of the video, we started an investigation and arrested both of them," official said.
They were charged under Section 336 of the Indian Penal Code and others.
The duo will not be remanded in police custody since offence is minor and carries both a jail term of less than six months and a fine, official added.
