SHOCKING! Man axes 8 members of his family in MP’s Chhindwara; later hangs himself

In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly hacked to death eight members of his family with an axe in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhindwara district and later committed suicide by hanging himself.

The incident took place late Tuesday night in Bodal Kachhar village, under the jurisdiction of Mahuljhir police station, in a tribal-dominated area.

The man killed 8 members of family including parents, wife, children, and siblings. He ended his own life by hanging himself later, a police official said on Wednesday.

Upon receiving the report of the mass murder, senior officials, including the Chhindwara collector and superintendent of police, rushed to the village, which is about 100 km away from the district headquarters. Police have sealed off the entire village.

The reason behind the incident was not yet clear.
