Reverse Chronology: Terrorist who carried out bomb blast is now a thief of SUVs

Kottayam:Judicial first class magistrate court here on Saturday remanded Muhammed Rafiq, who was arrested in connection with several car theft case, and a convict in 1998 Coimbatore bomb blast case, to judicial custody till March seven, 2020.
Police arrested the accused from his hide out near Ukkadam, Coimbatore on Friday. His arrest follows the statements given by Illayas and K A Nishad, who used to hire luxury cars using fake identity documents and sold them to Rafiq.
 
The duo said that they had supplied at least 11 cars and a two-wheeler to Rafiq. The accused used to take the vehicles to a garage at Coimbatore, tamper the engine and chassis numbers and dispatch them to other parts of the country, police sources said. (UNI)
