Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan supports 'Mersal'

Chennai: Vijay starrer Mersal which has been hitting the headlines for various reasons, saw actors Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan heaping laurels on the movie. Both the actors saw 'Mersal' along with the film unit last evening.

While the movie drew protests and criticisms from the BJP for having references to GST and the Digital India, the Tamil film fraternity and leaders of various political parties, including the DMK and the Congress, came in support of Vijay and condemned the BJP for demanding deletion of the scenes from the film. Rajinikanth tweeted'the film has addressed an important topic. ‘Important topic addressed...Well done !!! Congratulations team #Mersal’, Rajini said.

Kamal Haasan too appreciated the crew for making an entertainer. Directed by Atlee and produced by Sri Thenandal Films, the movie stars Nithya Menon, Kajal Agarwal, Samantha, Vadivelu, S J Suryah, Sathyaraj in key roles. The Music was composed by A R Rahman. (UNI)
