India reports 13,742 new COVID cases, 104 deaths

New Delhi: India recorded 13,742 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country caseload to 1,10,30,176, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Besides, the country also reported 104 more fatalities in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 1,56,567. Now, the case fatality rate stands at 1.42 per cent.

Total 14,037 people also recovered during the period, pushing the number of recoveries to 1,07,26,702. 

Now, the country has 1,46,907 active cases, which is 1.33 per cent of the total cases.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), till Tuesday, 21,30,36,275 tests have been conducted across the country, of which 8,05,844 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. (UNI)
