Islamabad: An Islamist mob vandalised a Hindu temple and broke the idol of Lord Krishna in Khipro in Sanghar district of Pakistan’s Sindh province when the Hindu minority there were celebrating the festival of Janmashtami, or the birth of Lord Krishna.

Lal Malhi, Member National Assembly of Pakistan, in a tweet strongly condemned the desecration of the temple and the breaking of the idol.

“Strongly condemn desecration of Lord Krishna statue at Khipro-Sindh. The law enforcers must act swiftly to stop recurrent attacks,” he tweeted, tagging the Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari.

Earlier this month, several people were arrested in Pakistan Punjab’s Rahimyar Khan district for their involvement in vandalizing a Hindu temple in Bhong town.

On August 4, a frenzied mob vandalized a Ganesh temple and smashed the idols of the gods in Bhong city of Rahimyar Khan. (UNI)
