Badaun:BJP MP from Badaun Lok Sabha seat Dr. Sanghamitra Maurya has accused West Bengal's TMC MP and film actress Nusrat Jahan of giving false affidavit in Parliament and hiding marital status and has demanded her disqualification as member of Lok Sabha.
Ms Maurya has handed over a letter of her demand to the Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla recently.

BJP MP from Budaun, Sanghmitra Maurya demanded cancellation of Nusrat Jahan's Lok Sabha membership. By writing a letter to Speaker Om Birla, it has been said that her conduct is indecent. A letter has also been written to the Lok Sabha Speaker regarding the matter of their marriage dispute of the WB MP

"She has deceived her voters on the issue of marriage. The dignity of Parliament has also been tarnished by her act," the BJP MP said with stressing her demand. The MP said that the matter should be sent to the Ethics Committee of the Lok Sabha and get it investigated.

Ms Maurya, on a day-long visit to her Lok Sabha constituency, said here on Tuesday that Nusrat Jahan lied in the temple of the country's largest democracy, where rules are made and the country runs from there. She had presented her marriage in a different way terming their marriage as illegal. "We have objected so that people should not do such thing in the Parliament in future," she said.

"I have no interest in TMC MP's personal life but we have written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker in which TMC MP Nusrat Jahan in her affidavit, she has shown her marital status as married and took the oath. Her name in the affadavit was Nusrat Jahan alias Noori Jain and her husband's name was Nikhil Jain. But now she had confessed that her marriage was not valid. You lied to the public, you lied to the country's parliament, from where the country runs. But you have given a wrong statement in Parliament and there should be an investigation in this matter and action should be taken," she said.

She further says that "when Nusrat came to take oath in the Lok Sabha she wore , vermilion on her forehead and had marriage bangles which is a custom of a newly married woman. But now ahe refuses . I think such work has been done to fool the people of country".(UNI)
