BMC collects 11,500 kg garbage from Marine drive after Team India's victory parade

Mumbai: A day after a barrage of Mumbaikars gathered for Indian Cricket Team's parade, but Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) collected 11,500 kg of waste along Marine Drive stretch after the event.

A senior BMC official said, ''The area's cleanliness activities were hampered by the large number of people arriving. However, the drive was completed by 8 am, clearing and loading waste into compactors, dumpers, and five SCBVs. Most of the waste was fluffy materials, occupying volumes but not much weight.''

A senior civic official reported that lakhs of fans gathered at Marine Drive for the victory parade of the T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team.

Mumbai police reported that several fans sustained minor injuries and some experienced breathing difficulties on Thursday evening.
