New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday allowed 21-year-old environmental activist Disha Ravi access to FIR copy and opportunity to meet lawyer and family.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma allowed Disha 30 minutes time with her legal counsel and 15 minutes with her family. She has sought a copy of the FIR against her over the Toolkit in connection with agitating ryots.

The Delhi Police arrested Disha from Bengaluru on Saturday, alleging that she is the key accused behind the toolkit, shared by environmentalist Greta Thunberg on the ongoing farmers' protest against Centre's three farm laws and is linked to pro-Khalistan groups.

Earlier in the day, Delhi Police Commissioner S N Shrivastava said the arrest of Disha Ravi was made in accordance with law which "doesn't differentiate between a 22-year-old or 50-year-old".

Shrivastava said it is wrong when people say that there were lapses in the arrest of the 22-year-old activist. The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has sent a notice to the Delhi Police on arrest of Disha Ravi and sought a report as to why she was not provided lawyer of her choice.

In the notice, the DCW has asked the Delhi Police for a copy of the FIR filed against Disha. The commission has asked, "Was procedure followed during Disha's arrest? Also, according to media reports, she was not provided the lawyer of choice before being presented in court."(UNI)
