Woman paraded naked for helping DCW to bust illicit liquor in Delhi

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday met the woman who was allegedly beaten and paraded naked for helping Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) to bust illicit liquor in Narela here.The Chief Minister along with DCW chief Swati Maliwal met the victim here at a hospital in the national capital this morning.Meanwhile, a delegation of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) women volunteers will meet Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal over the issue. The Chief Minister is likely to meet Mr Baijal at around 1600 hours.

On Thursday, the woman alleged that she was beaten and paraded naked by liquor mafia for helping DCW to bust illicit liquor in Delhi's Narela.DCW chief Swati Maliwal had said that the brave lady was beaten and her video was made as she dared to raise her voice against crime and helped DCW catch people selling illegal liquor in their home at 50 metre from police chowki.

Terming the incident 'shameful' Delhi Chief Minister had urged Lt Governor Anil Baijal to take action on the matter."Utterly shocking and shameful that this is happening in the capital of India. I urge LG to immediately intervene, take action against local policemen and ensure everyone’s safety," Mr Kejriwal tweeted.

The Delhi police in a statement said that there was a quarrel among ladies following which the lady suffered minor injuries.Police said that a case was registered against the accused in connection with the matter.However, it has termed 'incorrect' that police post is 50 metres away.(UNI)
