Meerut:A man, who was charged with murder of a woman and her minor daughter here, was arrested by police on Thursday.
Police said Samshad was arrested near Noornagar crossing under Brahmapuri police station area. The criminal was injured in an encounter. A pistol and some cartridges have been recovered from his possession.
Samshad is reported to have killed the woman and her 10-year-old daughter in March and buried the bodies in the drawing room of his house situated at Burbaral in Partapur area.Police said that the man's wife and brother-in-law, also involved in the crime, are yet to be traced.
The victim used to stay with Samshad, who used a Hindu name to deceive her. But when she came to know about his real identity, he murdered her along with her daughter.After taking up the case on Wednesday, police bulldozed a portion of the house when the bodies were recovered. (UNI)
