New Delhi: Taking objections to liquor baron Vijay Mallya drawing parallels with him by calling both of them as victims of 'political vendetta' , Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra said on Tuesday that he was a political victim but never misused his position or ran away with anyone's money.

Reacting to a social media post by Mallya in which the businessman said that he was a political victim like Vadra and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, the son-in-law of Ms Gandhi charged the liquor baron of using his name as 'crutches' and for his 'personal benefit'.

I never ran away wid any1’s money from India,'' he said on micro-blogging site twitter.

Mr Vadra also advised Mallya to come back to India and face all pending legal matters against him.''My advise to him, “return to India/face all legal charges/clear dues”!”pls avoid using my name”, I dont wish to b associated wid u in any matter,'' Mr Vadra said in his tweet.Mallya, who is wanted in India for financial irregularities involving a total amount of Rs 9,000 crore as well as money laundering, will be tried in the UK court on December 4.Vadra has been under the scanner for dubious land deals made in Haryana when the Congress was in power for 10 years.(UNI)
