New Delhi:The NIA Tuesday moved the Supreme Court against the Bombay High Court's November 18 order granting bail to Bhima Koregaon accused, Prof. Anand Teltumbde in the case.
The Supreme Court bench, led by the Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud, listed the matter today for hearing the appeal of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on November 25.
The NIA, the probe agency in the case, has further submitted to the Apex Court that the Bombay High Court had conducted a "mini trial" and "roving inquiry" which will influence the trial at this stage in the case.
On a mentioning Tuesday, by the Solicitor General (SG) Tushar Mehta, senior law officer appearing for the NIA, for urgent hearing in the matter, the CJI bench listed the appeal for hearing on November 25.
Recently on November 18, the Bombay High Court had in its order granted bail to Prof Anand Teltumbde, an accused in the Bhima Koregaon violence case.(UNI)
