New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices were increased by 80 paise per litre on Friday. After a hiatus of 137 days, the oil marketing companies had increased the fuel prices by 80 paise per litre on March 22 and 23.

According to price notification of Indian Oil Corporation, Petrol in Delhi now costs Rs 97.81 per litre while diesel Rs 89.07 per litre.

In Kolkata, petrol costs Rs 107.18 per litre while diesel 92.22. In Mumbai, a litre of petrol is available at Rs 112.51 while diesel at Rs 96.70 per litre.

In Chennai, petrol costs Rs 103.67 per litre while diesel 93.71 per litre. Cooking gas prices too were increased.

The fuel prices were not increased for the last over four months presumably due to Assembly elections in the five states in spite of crude oil prices increasing in the international oil market due to the Russia-Ukraine war.

Some oil marketing companies had raised the bulk diesel prices by Rs 25 a litre last week. (UNI)
