President Trump phones PM Modi; thanks 'Narendra' for support in helping end Ukraine conflict

Washington/New Delhi: US President Donald Trump said he had held a “wonderful” phone call with “my friend” PM Modi, to wish him a very happy birthday. He also thanked “Narendra” for his support in helping end the Ukraine conflict.

In a post on Truth Social, the US President said:

“Just had a wonderful phone call with my friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I wished him a very Happy Birthday! He is doing a tremendous job.

“Narendra: Thank you for your support on ending the War between Russia and Ukraine! President DJT negotiation process.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi posted on X, that he had received a phone call from US President Trump with warm greetings for his 75th birthday on Wednesday.

The phone call came as India and US have noted positive momentum in their trade talks, amid a further thawing of their bilateral ties.

The PM said in a post on X, that India also backs President Trump’s initiatives towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict.

“Thank you, my friend, President Trump, for your phone call and warm greetings on my 75th birthday. Like you, I am also fully committed to taking the India-US Comprehensive and Global Partnership to new heights. We support your initiatives towards a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine conflict," the PM wrote on X.
