Jaipur: Initial trends after few rounds of counting of votes for Rajasthan bypolls indicated Congress gaining lead in Alwar and Ajmer, whereas the BJP is leading from Mandalgarh.
The counting of votes, which began at 0800 hrs on Thursday, was underway.Congress candidate Raghu Sharma is leading against BJP's Ram Swaroop Lamba by 13,297 votes in Ajmer.Congress candidate Karan Singh is leading against Labour Minister and BJP candidate Jaswant Yadav by 5,000 votes after completion of fifth round of counting.In Mandalgarh assembly seat, BJP’s Shakti Singh Hada has bagged 27,580 votes and was leading against Congress candidate Gopal Malviya after eighth round of counting.
A total of 42 candidates were in the fray for all three constituencies, polling for which was held on January 29. (UNI)
