SC again adjourns its order on K'taka MLAs' petitions
, Wednesday, 24 July 2019 (15:34 IST)
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday adjourned its order on the plea filed by two independent Karnataka MLAs seeking to withdraw their petitions.

The top court on Wednesday kept petitions of  independent Karnataka MLAs --  R Shankar and H Nagesh -- hanging as senior lawyers Mukul Rohatagi and Dr Abhishek Manu Singhvi were not present in the case before the court.

A bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi, found senior advocates -- Dr Singhvi and Mukul Rohatgi absent. To this, the CJI Gogoi said the SC will pass orders only in the presence of senior advocates -- Dr Singhvi and Rohatgi only.

The top court sought the presence of Senior advocates Rohatgi and Dr Singhvi before it passes the final order as they had consumed considerable amount of Court's time and adjourned the hearing likely for tomorrow.

Lawyer junior to Rohatagi, told the apex court that he was not in Delhi on Wednesday, after which, the court said: "We will pass appropriate orders likely tomorrow on the Karnataka political crisis matter."(UNI)
