Eight people were killed and six others severely injured in a high-intensity explosion that tore through a car parked near the Red Fort metro station on Monday evening.The blast set multiple vehicles ablaze and shattered nearby windowpanes, while several others are feared injured, an official said.Police have sounded high alert across Delhi following the incident.
The Police has identified Umar Mohammad a resident of Pulwama Kashmir & a medico by Profession. A cache of explosive worth 300 KG was also recovered from his residence. However a driver named Mohammad Salman strolled the car in Delhi from dawn to dusk & subsequently executed the blast in the peak traffic hours.

Police have taken Salman into custody. During interrogation, Mohammad Salman revealed that he had sold his car to Devendra, a resident of Okhla, Delhi, a year and a half ago. Investigation revealed that Devendra had sold the car to someone in Ambala, Haryana. Further investigation revealed the car's Pulwama connection.
