Two soldiers martyred as Pak fires unprovoked along LoC in Jammu

Jammu: Two jawans were martyred as Pakistan resorted to heavy unprovoked firing along the Line of Control in Sunderbani sector here.
"Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of Small arms, automatics and mortars on Monday evening from 1715 hrs in Sunderbani sector along the Line of Control (LC)," defence spokesman here said on Tuesday.
 
He said that Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively. However, in the exchange of fire, Riflemen Vinod Singh and Jaki Sharma were grievously injured and succumbed to their injuries, he said.
 
Rifleman Vinod Singh, 24, hailing from village Danapur, Jaurian, District Akhnoor, J&K and is survived by his father, Ajit Singh.
 
Rifleman Jaki Sharma, 30, belonged to Village Sanhail, Hiranagar, District Jammu, J&K and is survived by his wife, Rajni Devi. (UNI)
