New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party today extended its support to joint Opposition candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi for the Vice-Presidential poll. "AAP will support Shri Gopalkrishna Gandhi for VP," party's chief Arvind Kejriwal announced through a tweet. The development came hours after Mr Gandhi met the Chief Minister at his residence seeking the support of his party.
Notably, AAP had supported Meira Kumar, the Congress-led Opposition's candidate in the presidential poll. The BJP led NDA had fielded former Union Minsiter Venkaiah Nadu against Mr Gandhi. The polling is slated to be held on August 5.

With only few days left for the Vice-Presidential election, Joint Opposition candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi met Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal at his residence seeking support of his party.
"Vice-Presidential candidate Gopalkrishna Gandhi met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal," the AAP informed through a tweet. Notably, AAP had supported Meira Kumar, the Congress-led Opposition's candidate in the presidential polls. The BJP led NDA has fielded former Union Minister of the Narendra Modi-led government, M Venkaiah Naidu in the contest for post. The election for the post will be held on August 5. (UNI)
