HCL co-founder Ajai Chowdhry has made a startling revelation about the deep penetration of Chinese technology in India. In a recent interview with ANI, he claimed that almost every product around us today contains a Chinese-made chip.
Chowdhry recalled that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, he directed that all central government offices should have biometric attendance machines. “Each of those attendance machines were Chinese, each of them had Chinese chips,” Chowdhry said.
He added that a revelation made two years ago shocked everyone. “Two years ago, an intelligence agency was asked to look at them. And they found that all the data had gone back to China. What does that mean? All central government officers and their wives, and everyone whose name was on that attendance machine, have gone back to China," Chowdhry told ANI.
Chowdhry further said, “And the same is true for CCTVs. All CCTVs all over the country, every street, everything is known to the Chinese today because every CCTV has Chinese chips. So it's a very serious situation.”
“Not a Single Indian Phone Exists,” Says Chowdhry
He expressed disappointment that India doesn’t have even one truly Indian-made smartphone. When the interviewer pointed out that phones are being manufactured in India, Chowdhry dismissed it as “nonsense.”
“It is just putting it together, That is all ‘screwdriver technology,’” he explained. “When an Apple phone or Samsung phone is made in India, the kits come from China. They are screwdrivered and sent.”
