Raipur: At least 11 people, including five women, were killed in a collision between a truck and a Bolero in Chhattisgarh's Balod last night, police said.
According to information received from the police, a speeding truck rammed into a Bolero coming from the opposite direction near Balodgahan between Balod and Charama late at night on the national highway, in which 11 people, including five women and a child, were killed on the spot while an injured child died in the hospital during treatment.
The accident took place when the Sahu family was returning to Sorem Bhatgaon in Dhamtari district after attending a wedding at Charama Markatola in Kanker district.
As soon as the incident was reported, the administration and police officials reached the spot and started relief and rescue work.
CM Bhupesh Baghel has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved families. (UNI)
