Hyderabad: Leading fashion designer Prathusha Garimella was found dead in a bathroom of her residence situated at MLA Colony, Banjara Hills, here on Saturday.

Police also seized a Carbon Monoxide bottle from the bathroom.

The Police are suspecting that she committed suicide by inhaling carbon monoxide.

The body was sent to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, police said.

What is Carbon monoxide?

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas which has no smell or taste. Breathing it in can make you unwell, and it can even kill if you're exposed to high levels.

When carbon monoxide is breathed in, it enters the bloodstream and mixes with haemoglobin (the red blood cells which carry oxygen around the body) to form carboxyhaemoglobin.

When this happens, the blood is no longer able to carry oxygen, and this lack of oxygen causes the body's cells and tissue to fail and die. (Inputs from UNI)
