Nanded: With torrential rains lashing the district for last three days, the Painganga river in Kinwat taluka has swollen and started overflowing, inundating low-lying areas with flood waters, official sources said on Wednesday.

Due to this, 200 families from the area have been relocated to safer places and food packets and other arrangements are being made by the administration, assistant collector and sub-divisional officer Kirti Kumar Pujar informed.

Also, the Nanded-Kinwat road has been closed for vehicular traffic due to flood waters since Wednesday morning.

All the systems have been put in place under guidance of district collector Dr Vipin Itankar, Pujar added. (UNI)
