UP: Political activities gain momentum ahead of Assembly polls

Lucknow: Ahead of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, the ruling BJP-led Yogi Adityanath government has directed its ministers to camp in all the blocks of the state in the months of June and July.

In a meeting of the council of ministers here on Monday, which was chaired by the Chief Minister, it was decided that the ministers, who are already in charge of the districts, will camp in all the blocks on their respective districts to inspect the development works, review the progress and interact with party workers and people to sort out their problems.

State government spokesperson Sidharth Nath Singh said here that on June 21, the International Yoga Day, the ministers will reach to the people in the blocks in a big way to celebrate it.

While on June 27, the ministers along with the BJP workers will sit together in the blocks to hear the 'Maan ki Baat' of PM Narendra Modi.

"The ministers have been asked to cover one or two blocks in a day and there they will inspect PHCs, CHCs, schools, review food distribution scheme and the progress of the development in the area," he said.

During the 45 days programme, the ministers will also participate in plantation drive in the blocks and on the organisational front, hold small meetings with the party workers and people to know their problems, he added.

The plantation drive program would be held between June 23 to July 6, when the state is slated to set up a record in the plantation drive. (UNI)
