Visakhapatnam: A jilted lover slit throat of his girlfriend with a knife on the roadside after she refused his proposal at Sundarayya Nagar under Gajuwaka police station limits here on Saturday night.
The severely injured 17-old girl died on the spot, police said here.
The victim girl was an Intermediate passed out while accused 21-year-old Akhil Sai is a Law student of a university in Vizag city.
The locals said that Anil has been stalking the girl and had been pursuing her for a relationship. However, the girl had not been responding to his proposals.
On Saturday night, while the girl was returning from a temple, Sai followed her and he entered a heated argument with her.
During the argument, he took the knife and slit her throat.
The girl was found dead in a pool of blood at the location.
The locals nabbed the accused and handed over to police.
The Gajuwaka police, who rushed to the crime scene, recovered the knife used in the crime from the accused.
The police have registered a case and investigation is on. (UNI)
