In Gujarat, a shocking domestic violence case came to light on Diwali, when a woman allegedly poured boiling water and later acid on her husband, leaving him critically injured. The police have arrested the wife following a complaint filed by the victim.
The incident occurred in the Satellite police station area. The victim, Raunak (33), works as a food delivery boy.
According to reports, Raunak told the police that he and his wife had been arguing for over a year. He claimed that his wife constantly suspected him of having an affair with another woman. Despite the ongoing tension, Raunak tried to handle the situation peacefully.
On the night of October 19, Raunak returned home and went to sleep. Allegedly, his wife started an argument, accusing him again of an extramarital relationship. The quarrel escalated, and in the early hours of the morning, the wife allegedly poured boiling water on Raunak, causing severe burns.
When Raunak tried to remove his clothes in pain, his wife reportedly threw acid on him, leaving him in a critical condition. He managed to run outside screaming for help. Neighbors quickly took him to a nearby hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Raunak filed a complaint with the police, and his wife was immediately arrested.
Police stated that the incident was a result of a domestic dispute. Earlier, when the couple lived in the Vejalpur area, Raunak had filed a complaint against his wife there as well, but the police had mediated and reconciled both parties at that time.
