COVID is deadliest pandemic in past 100 years: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday said the COVID-19 is the deadliest pandemic in the past one century.

"This is the deadliest pandemic in the past 100 years. The modern world has not seen such a pandemic. Our country has fought this pandemic at many levels," the Prime Minister said in a televised address to the nation.

Mr Modi said during the second wave, the demand for medical oxygen in India increased unimaginably in the months of April and May.

He said to meet this rising demand of Oxygen, work was done on a war footing and all machinery of government was engaged to meet this demand. (UNI)
