Jaunpur: A mobile phone shop owner was shot at allegedly after he asked money in lieu of service from a customer in Badlapur area, police sources said here on Thursday.
Police sources said that Sharad Tripathi owns a mobile repairing shop in Sarokhanpur Bazar village.
"On Thursday night around 9.30 pm two motorcycle-borne persons came to his shop and got a screen guard installed on their mobile and when Tripathi demanded payment the miscreants shot him," the police said.
Police sources said that Tripathi was rushed to the district hospital from where he was referred to Varanasi due to excessive bleeding.
"Tripathi's condition is stated to be serious. He is brother of village head Chandan Kumar Tripathi," they said. (UNI)
